3.45 PM: Closing Bell: Sensex, Nifty end at record closing high led by pharma, financial stocks

Market Close: Benchmark indices ended at fresh record highs on February 3 on the back of buying seen across the sectors and positive global cues.

At close, the Sensex was up 458.03 points or 0.92% at 50,255.75, and the Nifty was up 142.10 points or 0.97% at 14,790. About 1752 shares have advanced, 1189 shares declined, and 149 shares are unchanged.

IndusInd Bank, Power Grid Corp, Sun Pharma, Dr Reddy’s Labs and Divis Lab were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Shree Cements, UltraTech Cement, Maruti Suzuki, ITC and UPL.

Except FMCG, all other sectoral indices ended in the green with pharma and PSU Bank indices rose 2 percent each and auto, metal and energy indices added over 1 percent each.
